Directions to Bangor
From the A55, follow signs to Bangor; take the exit marked for the University. Stay on the main road (A5) for about 2 miles. As you come into Bangor the harbour will be on your right. The road bends left away from the harbour and becomes Deiniol road. Take Deiniol road until it meets a T-junction at the train station, and turn RIGHT onto HOLYHEAD ROAD. Then follow the directions below to the building (see “Coming from HOLYHEAD ROAD”).
Directions to the Psychology department
There are many psychology buildings on campus; the BBCD Lab is located in the Brigantia Building. The Brigantia Building is a large, recently built building located on Penrallt Road, just off of College Road. One end of College Road ends at a T-junction with Holyhead Road. The other end of College Road merges into Upper Garth Road.
To get to the Brigantia building
Coming from HOLYHEAD ROAD
Holyhead road is one of the main roads in Bangor; it runs past the train station. Coming from the train station, you will pass a Morrison's on your right, pass this and carry on through the roundabout. Shortly after is a traffic signal at the intersection where College Road meets Holyhead. Turn right at the signal onto College road. College Road is a one way street at this point. Penrallt Road intersects a few blocks down, just at the point where College Road becomes a two way street (there is no visible street sign marking Penrallt). Turn right onto Penrallt Road. At this point the large, stone, Main Arts building will be on your left, and the large, modern Brigantia building will be on your right.
Coming from UPPER GARTH ROAD (near the Pier or coming up “Love Lane”)
If you are coming from the area around the Bangor pier, take this route. Upper Garth Road meets Garth Road near the pier, between the Tap & Spile pub and the Eryl Mor Hotel. Just get on Upper Garth Road (go between the pub and hotel) and follow until it merges into College Road (this happens when you stay to the left at the “BBC Wales” building – see map on next page). Continue up College until you run into the no-entry sign (where College Road becomes one-way against you). Turn left onto Penrallt Road Follow parking instructions in the previous paragraph.
Parking
There is a small car park across from the Brigantia Main Reception, signposted with a blue "P". This parking is for patients, participants and blue badge holders. If the lot is full (or blocked off), then just park temporarily at the front doors of the Brigantia Building, and we can direct you to other parking facilities.
